
The full-time studies in graphic design / advertising is a two-year post-secondary education for aspiring designers, designers and art directors. The school is intended to give a professional training, and be open to innovation in graphical form design, design, advertising and communications. The training will enable you to discover your uniqueness and individual talent in an environment that gives freedom and responsibility. Less theory and more practical creating and testing different approaches and ways of thinking and living in exciting projects. Starting dates. Monday 25th of August 2009.
Course Facts. The full-time studies is four semesters during the day. Total 64 weeks. Lessons is normally placed Monday to Friday, 09.30-15.30. But in addition to class time, it may also be teaching in the evenings, at weekends and study visits. Lessons consist of lectures, workshops, tutorials and presentations at the various projects, homework and teamwork. The school is open around the clock for the students. You use your own laptop. The school has printers and other equipment.
Content. Graphic Design & Advertising: Creative thinking, work of ideas and creative process work. Typography, design history, layout applications, advertising campaigns, commercials, communications, design problems, design of printed materials such as books, posters, stationery and newspapers. Innovative and experimental marketing. Event Design, logos, packaging design and 3-dimensional objects. Image: Image and illustration, croquis, art history, color theory, various sketch techniques and materials. Computer image creation, image composition. Photographic image, photographic history, image communication. Media and Data: Program Management, print production, motion picture, film editing, web production, printing techniques and press history. Industry Awareness: Study visits to advertising agencies, museums, art galleries, printing offices. Professional training, advertising, communications agencies, media companies, or the equivalent. Current professional orientation and expertise. You will continually demonstrate your portfolio for professionals. You will meet a number of professional graphic designers, designers, art directors and other creative people.
Application. You should have a secondary education qualification, or equivalent, with the approval in Swedish and English language. A recommendation is to have an advanced course or some work experience, or to have completed our evening course or basic course in graphic design. You may also have experience from working with Mac computers. In addition, we value your talent and ability to solve the mandatory tasks in a creative linguistic and exciting way. The training, which is a higher two-year post-training, is aimed primarily at those aged between 20-35 years. Teacher and student representatives together with school management, determines who will be adopted to education. Deadline for your application is set to june the 10th 2009. The school is open between 9-18 during that day.
Fee. Course fee is 46.250 skr / semester. The course is exempt from VAT. When the studies begin, you must have a portable Mac because the school does not have a traditional computerroom. Study aid. The training is entitled study aid under section A2. Study aid concerns education at secondary level and may be given at a maximum of 80 weeks if the student has undergone three years of secondary school and the age of 20. This means that you can not get study aid if you after high school has already undergone an education entitled study aid which are not college, and is longer than 16 weeks. The labor market. So far, approximately 97% of Forsberg’s students received an industry-related professional within a year after completing study. After training, you can work as art director, graphic designer or designer in offices, on film and production companies, in editorial environments, in large enterprises as IKEA, or in your own business. Forsberg has trained some of Europe’s most creative people in graphic design and advertising.
Diploma. All students receive a diploma approved by the presence and effort.
