The major evening course in Graphic Design & Advertising in autumn 2009 and spring 2010 is a good further education. It allows you to do working samples, try different design and advertising tasks and to develop your creative talents. It’s also an incentive for existing professionals. The diploma after completing the evening course is very creditable for application to the full-time studies. Many of the students who have undergone the minor evening course have been adopted to the full-time studies. The teachers are all professionals and teach also at the full-time studies.
Starting dates. Fall 2009.
Course Facts. We meet one evening a week, on Wednesdays between 18.00-20.30, for two semesters; 30 weeks, 30 nights. Total 90 class hours. You will get a schedule and a compendium at the start. During lessons the teacher goes through the tasks that you may work with outside class time. It’s approved to work with the equipment you have access to, either digitally or with traditional drawing methods. Besides lectures on lessons you will present your work, discuss and participate in creative workshops. Emphasis is placed on the creative creation. Some working material during class time is supplied by the school. In addition to the specified study time, you can expect 5-10 hours homework per week. The course ends with an exhibition at the school.
Content. Graphic Design & Advertising: Creative thinking and creative process work. Typography, page layout applications, promotions and communications. Design of printed books and invitations. Package Design, concept design, CD design, logos and 3-dimensional objects. Image: Image and illustration, various sketch techniques and materials. Industry Awareness: You will during the course meet a number of professional graphic designers, designers, art directors and other creative people.
Application. There are no formal requirements, however, the number of places on the course are limited. Admission is in the order notifications arrive.
Submission. Submit the registration form to Forsbergs Skola, Skinnarviksringen 6, 117 27 Stockholm. Final notification is Friday, Feb. the 13th.
Fee. Course fee for the entire course is 25.000 skr, add VAT 6.250 skr. You can choose to pay per semester (12.500 skr, add VAT 3.125 skr). The fee includes some materials used during class time. When adopted, you must confirm your place by paying an entry fee of 3.500 skr which is subtracted from the entire course fee. The remaining fee is paid before the course. The major evening course intensive is not eligible for study aid.
Diploma. All students receive a diploma approved by the presence and effort.
