GAME WRITING
Game Writing requires different ways of thinking and different skills than writing in other media. This course is directed at both people who want to take the first step into the expanding professional world of writing for games and for someone who is already working with creative writing in related fields such as storytelling, copywriting or screenwriting. The classes are a balance between theoretical understanding and lots of practical exercises and during the course you will learn how to rethink about writing across different genres and types of games. The course ends with a project where you will produce your own text-based game!
All our teachers are professionals in related industries and also include teachers from our full-time education. The diploma you receive on successful completion of the course is not only a real plus in applying to our full-time games and copywriting courses it’s also a great addition to your CV.
COURSE DETAILS
The course includes 12 instructor-led evening sessions. The classes are scheduled between 6 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. but in addition you should count on 2-5 hours of self-study.
CONTENT
Basics of Game Storytelling, Game writing theory, Character Development Story Development, Narrative forms, Writing Methods, Dialogue, Cutscenes, Visual storytelling, Gameplay, World Building, Text based games-Twine.
APPLICATION
There are no formal requirements to be admitted to the course but you will need a laptop for in-class use. The number of participants is limited and admission is based on the order of the applications.

FEE
The tuition fee for the course is 18.750 SEK, VAT included (15.000 SEK excl. VAT). Once you have been accepted, and you have confirmed your spot, a tuition fee invoice will be sent. No material and or software are included. The course is not eligible for student aid.
DIPLOMA
All students receive a diploma after successfully completing the course
