Our History
Forsbergs Skola was founded by Pia Forsberg and Pelle Lindberg in the fall of 1991. At the start Karl-Erik Forsberg and Vidar Forsberg two of Sweden’s leading names in art and design were also involved.
The school started with just a single correspondence course in graphic design. By 1992 Forsbergs’ evening courses started and the school moved into a small shop on Vikingagatan in Stockholm. The following year the school started for real, with day-time students at the old Carnegie brewery on Kungsholmen in Stockholm. The new school immediately recruited teachers such as Gabor Palotai, Marie Wollbäck, Gyula Buvary, Anders Lindholm and Håkan Lindström. The educations were an immediate success and the school began to grow. New evening courses were added and in 1998 a full-time education in Copywriting was added. In the fall of 1999, Forsbergs Skola moved to larger premises on Polhemsgatan and in the spring of 2007 moved to its own home at Skinnarviksringen on Södermalm. In 2015 Forbergs took another step in its development by adding Games educations to its full-time programs.
Today the focus areas of our educations cover graphic design, advertising copywriting, game art and game design. The goal however remains the same; to always stay up to date with changes in the creative industries and that the different areas of communication we work with enrich each other. Over the years we have created numerous exciting projects and exhibitions both in Sweden and abroad, including presenting our final exhibitions at places such as the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, the Nordic Company (NK), Hovstallet (The Royal Stables), Humlegården, Stockholm City Museum, The Strand Hotel in Stockholm and The Annika Sundvik Gallery in New York!
All teachers at the school are professionals in their respective fields and contribute by creating unique projects with our students that are constantly updated in respect to the professional areas they work with. To our delight, many of Sweden’s most successful names in the creative industries received their education at Forsbergs!
