Forsbergs Game Art is a higher educational portfolio program for game artist and 2D/3D artists. The program aims to give a creative and professional game artist education, with emphasis on visual craftmanship and developing creative abilities. The program is qualified for Swedish financial aid for studies (CSN).

Course facts

Game Design is a full-time 110 weeks long portfolio program with 40 weeks of internship included. Lessons are mainly scheduled during daytime, but may also occur during evenings and weekends. The teaching consists of lectures, workshops, instructions, project work, team work, presentations and internships.


Creative thinking, ideation and process oriented work. 2D/3D art, 2D/3D animation. Concept art. AAA, serious games, apps. 2D/3D-modeling, texturing, lighting. Game projects, agile development and presentation skills. Field studies at game development studios, industry orientation and internship.


The application consists of two steps.

Work samples

The qualification assessment and selection process is based on portfolio screening and an interview.

You portfolio should show talent for game design and/or game art, and consist of minimum 5 and maximum 12 pieces of optional work samples, digitally documented.

The work samples can for instance include a game concept or a character sheet. Visual work samples should be complemented with short description, whereas written work samples should be complemented with sketches. We particularly appreciate creativity and originality. The work samples should be provided in any of the formats below:

  • link to personal online portfolio.
  • pdf or VLC-compatible video format (maximum 5 min). Use Dropbox or similar to attach files larger than 20 MB.

Tuition fee

The tuition fee is 260 000 SEK. Financing the tuition fee is possible for Swedish residents through tuition loans from CSN (Swedish financial aid for studies).


Students receive a diploma after passing all courses included in the program.
