Surgubben is a sour beer brand that explores perfection through its opposite: imperfection, unpredictability, and authenticity. The brewery consists of three sour beer flavors, each paired with an illustrated “sour old man,” appearing across cans and posters. Sour beer is difficult to control, as every batch develops differently through natural fermentation. 

It is also divisive, its sourness and unpredictability are seen either as its defining strength or as a flaw. This tension reflects how subjective the idea of perfection can be.Surgubben himself is also unfiltered, rough around the edges and unapologetically honest. It mirrors how imperfection and individuality can form a different kind of perfection, one that resists control rather than conforming to it.
